

Edward H. Belkengren, age 84, of Richfield, Minnesota, died on May 24, 2025 at Masonic Manor in Bloomington, Minnesota. He was born on December 24, 1940 on his grandparents farm in Melrose, Minnesota.
Ed grew up in Richfield, MN along with brothers Donald, William and Douglas, and sister Kathleen. He attended St. Peters grade school and graduated high school from Richfield in 1958. Ed served in the US Army Reserves. He attended Dunwoody Vocational and joined the sheet metal workers union where he was employed for his full career.
During his career and after retirement his main interest was building ‘32 Ford Hot Rods, for which he became known around the country, and received numerous awards and recognition as one of the best. Fast Eddie’s cars will long remain as a reminder to many of the talent he had for working them into many cars that became “Best in Show.”
Ed had no children. His ex-wife Sandy preceded Ed in death on May 10, 2025. Ed was preceded in death by both his parents Elizabeth M. (Tiemann) Belkengren and Robert C. Belkengren, all his grandparents, aunts and uncles. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery in Melrose MN on the site of his parents grave.
Funeral for Edward H. Belkengren will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Saint Peter's Catholic Church, 6730 Nicollet Avenue South, Richfield, MN 55423. Visitation at 10:00 AM, Funeral Mass at 11:00 and gathering following Mass. Burial will be at 4:30 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery in Melrose, MN 56352.
