OBITUARY
David Michael Rubedor
June 13, 1962 – February 14, 2023

David M. Rubedor 60, departed this life on February 14,2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. David was born on June 13,1962 in Windom, Minnesota. The son of Maurine and DeWayne Rubedor. He married Byron Bradley on February 14, 2015.
David was a graduate of Windom High School class of 1980. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Urban & Regional and Geography Studies at University of Minnesota Duluth in 1984 and received a master’s degree from Hamline University in Public Administration in 1991.
David was a committed advocate for providing safe and affordable housing for residents of Minneapolis. This was evidenced by his many years working in community development. His employment included Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association (PPNA) Powderhorn Residents Group (PRG) and with the City of Minneapolis as Director of Community Relations & Assistant City Coordinator. David retired from the City of Minneapolis in 2022.
David and Byron traveled extensively. Brasil was one of David’s most favorite destinations. He fell in love with the people, culture, and language. He spent many hours mapping out all nine (9) countries that spoke Portuguese and was able to visit all but three (3). He also loved photography and opened an art gallery called “Galeria do Beija Flor”. David enjoyed running, biking, canoeing, bowling and cross -country skiing. David spent his last months with Byron traveling the country in their recreational vehicle. Their journey took them west traveling through Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Kansas, Oregon, Washington. Their adventure was cut short as David’s health declined and required that they return to Minneapolis.
David is preceded in death by mother, Maurine Rubedor, sister, Kristine & Jim LaFleur, and brother, Mark Rubedor.
He leaves to cherish his memory; husband Byron Bradley; Father DeWayne Rubedor; and sister Kathleen (Dean) Crowell; children Sena, Samantha and Lauren; five (5) grandchildren Sasha, Cymone, Adrian, Isabella and Samuel; nephew Daniel Crowell; nieces Amber (Greg) Becker and Katie Lyn Rubedor (Adam) Green.
Family extends their gratitude to the Allina Hospice Team, Medical Staff at Virginia Piper Cancer Institute and The City of Hope (CA) for their care and devotion.
Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Friday, February 24th, 2023 at 5:00 P.M., at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet, Minneapolis, MN.
Family is requesting business casual attire at the celebration.
