Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Trevor eventually made his home in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he built a life centered around his family, his career, and the people he loved.
There are no words big enough to express what it means to lose Trevor.
Trevor was full of life. When he walked into a room, his presence was felt. He had a ridiculous sense of humor and could make people laugh when they needed it most. He was fiercely loyal, incredibly kind, and always seemed to put everyone else before himself.
Trevor never wanted to burden anyone with his own problems. He often carried his struggles quietly while continuing to be there for the people he loved. His struggles were only one part of his story. They were never the whole story.
His story was also one of love, fatherhood, kindness, loyalty, and laughter. It was the story of a man who cared deeply for others, gave of himself freely, and could bring light into a room simply by being there.
Above all, Trevor was an amazing father to his four children. He is survived by his beloved children, Aidan Sankowsky, Kieran Sankowsky, Grayson Sankowsky, and his youngest daughter, Rosemarie Sankowsky. His children were among the greatest loves of his life, and they will carry his love, laughter, and memories with them always.
Trevor is also survived by his wife, Sonya Sankowsky, his mother Rosemarie Sankowsky and his two sisters and their children, Allison Campbell (Bethany and Andrew Cushman) and Bethany Barzowskas (Ava and Alex Barzowskas), along with extended family, friends, and countless people whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Daniel Sankowsky.
As his sisters, there are no words big enough to express what it means to lose our brother. We will miss the sound of his laugh, his ridiculous sense of humor, his fierce loyalty, and the unmistakable presence that was simply Trevor. We will miss the brother, father, husband, and friend he was. We will miss the memories we shared—and all the moments we believed we would still have.
We wish we could have carried some of his burdens for him. More than anything, we wish he had known just how deeply he was loved and how much his life meant to all of us.
We will carry Trevor with us in every story we tell, every laugh that reminds us of him, and every memory we hold close. His children will carry his love forward. His family will carry his laughter. His friends will remember the warmth and joy he brought into their lives.
Trevor was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was deeply loved, profoundly missed, and forever a part of us.
