Robert Alfred DeSimone

Robert Alfred DeSimone (Bob), devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died on June 1st, 2026, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his loving wife Pat of 67 years, four children, Carolyn, Kristen (Patrik), Robert and Andrew (Lucy), ten grandchildren, Katie, Drew, Jonathan, Emily, Margaret, Alice, Oliver, Ben, Grace and Charlie, and great granddaughter Eleanor. His family was the center of his existence. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Tricia.

On July 29, 1935, Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Felicia and Nicholas DeSimone. He was the middle child of his younger brother Richard and older sister Joan. He earned his bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1957 and graduated from Tufts Medical school in 1961. He served in the Navy from 1961 to 1964, and was a successful radiologist in both Massachusetts and Cary, North Carolina.

Bob enjoyed golf, bridge, making wine, Hurricanes and Bruins hockey and was an inventive chef. He had a green thumb for anything that grows, and enjoyed taking care of his plants and working in his yard. With the exception of the cabbage year, his family enjoyed the rewards of his gardening. He was wonderful at many things, but being our "Papa" was his specialty. He will be forever missed.
