Beth Carey, 87, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away on April 11, 2026. She is now with her Heavenly Father, free of pain and suffering. Born on April 2, 1939, to R.T. and Edythe Smith, Beth lived a life marked by kindness, humor, faith, and an unwavering work ethic.
Beth found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life — cooking for those she loved, spending time on St. Simon’s Island, and caring for the many cats who brought her comfort and companionship over the years. Her gentle spirit and steady presence were felt by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Kirk; her daughter‑in‑law, Liza; and her grandson, Houston, who will forever cherish her love and the lessons she passed down. Beth was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers.
A small private family service will be held at a later date.
