In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Laurie Harrod.
John is survived by his brother William Blomquist (Maranda) and his twin brother Joseph Blomquist (Beverly) along with numerous nieces and nephews and special friends.
John graduated from Cary High School in 1971. He served in the US military for four years and owned the Berkeley Café, in downtown Raleigh, for 25 years.
John enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and other friends. John never met a stranger.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm-4:00pm Saturday August 14, 2021 at Central Baptist Church(Fellowship Hall) 11109 Poole Road Wendell, NC.
