Jeff had an athletic scholarship to Hillsdale College where he wrestled on the state champion team. His degree in Zoology was then achieved at Michigan State. His heart will always be with his beloved Spartans.
Jeff was also, a loyal employee of General Motors for over 30 years. His favorite part of those years was his relationships with the dealers across the country. He had an ability to earn their trust and friendship which allowed him to excel in his career.
He especially loved the Oldsmobile division and promoted the beginnings of the Oldsmobile Scramble golf tournament. It was said when he received the “pickle award” (with a pack of cucumber seeds) he would make a better gardener than a golfer.
Jeff had an engaging smile, and never met a dog or child he didn’t love. Many of his hours were spent field-training his hunting dogs, Pete and Buzz. Jeff was actively involved in the beginning of the Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club.
He loved his music and could be heard singing his favorite tunes in the car or when riding in the golf cart around Pinewild with his sidekick, Lilly. He was often seen on the front porch with his friend Mike, solving the problems of the world as he loved a good conversation.
Private remembrances will be held with family. If you would like to make a donation in Jeff’s memory, please consider:
