The son of Lawrence and Esther Mestell, he is survived by his beloved wife, Roseann, his son Gregory and family, his son David and family, his daughter Samantha and family and by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and more.
Gerald, preferred name Jerry, served in the Air Force for 4 years. He was in aviation for 60 plus years and was with the FAA for 15 years. He was a strong, compassionate and loving man. He was a man you looked up to. To him, his greatest passion and accomplishment in life was making sure his family knew they were loved and cared for. He supported his family, never passed judgement and made sure everyone knew he loved them dearly. He was loved by all and will be missed.
As per his wishes, there will be no service or memorial. It was his wish that in lieu of gifts, a donation be made to the Steven F Udvar-Hazy Aerospace Museum in Fairfax County, Virginia.
