Barbara left home at age 17 to go to X-Ray Technology training at Cabarrus Hospital. At age 43 she went to Bowman Gray School of Medicine for ultrasound training. Barbara was board certified in x-ray and ultrasound. She loved the game of bridge, line dancing, and mailing cards of all types to friends and families.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Burleson and Vergie Burleson Benner, brothers Jerry Burleson and Woody Burleson, sister Diane Deal, and her precious dog Bubbles.
Barbara is survived by her husband Dewey Bailey, her sons Brent (Becky) Russell, Sterling (Daphne) Russell, and Lance (Robin) Russell; her grandchildren Savannah, Caroline, Reed and Leah Russell; and her brother Johnny Burleson and wife In Suk Burleson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 16th at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church at 402 N. Main Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
