During his years at Benson High, he belonged to a car club and also worked for Klupenger’s Nursery. While working there he became very good friends with Ray Klupenger. During this time he met Joeine and they were married on August 24th, 1957. One month later Marv went active in the Navy where he served for the next 2 years. They worked together most of their married life.
After Marv got out of the service he and Joeine got together with Ray and Candy Klupenger, and took a lot of family camping and fishing trips. The four of them took some cruises together; they would also get together once a month for dinner.
Marv loved to fish, hunt, and go clamming. The beach was his special place.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joeine; daughters Tina and Cindy; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Marv was diesel mechanic for 30 years, and a service manager for 15 years. He passed that trade down to his grandson.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1pm-4pm Saturday January 25th, 2020 at the Gateway Elks Lodge 16321 SE Stark Portland, OR 97233.
