

William A. Sherrard passed away July 23, 2024 peacefully at home in North Port Fl with his wife Constance Sherrard and daughter Sharon Sherrard Chapman. He was born May 11, 1928 and was 96 years old. Bill was born in Detroit MI, My parents were married 72 years. He will be cremated at National Cremation of Port Charlotte and his remains will be placed in Lake Superior early next summer with family able to attend, as he loved sailing those waters. He was a loving husband, father , brother, uncle, and friend to many.
He leaves behind Connie his wife, and three children: daughter Sharon Sherrard Chapman and husband Syd Chapman, Aaron Chapman Grandson, Gabrielle Riihimaa; granddaughter and husband Bart Riihimaa, Great Granddaughter; Alyssa Riihimaa Vermeer and husband Jordan Vermeer and Great Great Grandson Oliver Vermeer. Jacob Riihimaa Great grandson and Great great grandchildren Everleigh, Avett, Louis and Millicent.
Mark Sherrard; son and husband Dennis Fick, Grandson Matthew Sherrard and wife Moria Barton-Sherrard, and Granddaughter Leanne Sherrard and SO Jared Reed and Great grandson Jordan Sherrard, and Granddaughter Denee Rousella and husband Dave and Great grandson Liam Rousella.
Paula Sherrard Mills, daughter and husband Mark Mills, Grandson Chad Mills and wife Jennifer Mills and Great grand children: Caleb, Levi, Ezra and Hannah Mills. Also Granddaughter Amber Mills Berry and husband Denis Berry and Great grandchildren Grant William, Maverick and Ava Sue Mills.
William, (Bill) was son to William A. Sherrard Sr. of Yazoo City MS and Irene E Blankstrom Sherrard if Calumet MI, both deceased (D).
He was brother to Robert and wife Toni Sherrard, both (D)., and Uncle to Paul Sherrard and wife Bobette and son Jake his daughter Harlequin, and Brandi daughter and husband Billie and children: Paige, Hagen, Weldon, and Weston and Uncle to Linda Sherrard, (D), and son Ricky Sherrard.
William was brother to Burdette Sherrard Chapman and husband Robert Sam Chapman, both (D), and children: Suzanne; (D), Burdette Bowman, Adrianne Chapman, Michelle Chapman, Sean Chapman, Timothy Chapman (D), Aimee Gerkin, and Peter Chapman and their families.
William (Bill) sailed the Great Lakes at age 16 years and was befriended by Earl Morris Chief Engineer on the William B. Schiller iron ore vessel. Then he joined the Air Force. He met mom through Don Davis husband of Ann Janilonis Davis my nana and Constance. They dated and were married August 30, 1952.
Dad was self taught. He earned all the licenses available at the time for his trade: HVAC equipment, Refrigeration, Unlimited heating service, Unlimited refrigeration and air conditioning service and Ductwork. So proud of dad and his accomplishments. He was a wonderful guy and we loved him so much.
