OBITUARY
Ralph C. Fischer
December 14, 1942 – November 20, 2022

Ralph C. Fischer, 79, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022.
Ralph lived a life filled with adventure. He was a lifelong sailor and boater. Included in his many adventures was sailing up and down the intercoastal waterways eight times with his wife and first-mate Janis. He enjoyed many sailing adventures with family and friends throughout his life.
Ralph was born on December 14, 1942 to Clarence and Rose Fischer in Buffalo, New York. After graduating from Amherst high school in 1960, he went on to study civil engineering at Delhi Tech.
Ralph met the love of his life, Janis, in 1962 and they were married in 1964, going on to have three wonderful children, Robert, Peggy, and Betsy. The family moved to Bowie, Maryland in 1974.
Ralph had a successful career for many years with companies, including Turner, constructing buildings along the east coast. After retiring, Ralph and Janis moved to Punta Gorda, Florida, in 2001, where they were active in the community. Ralph was a member of many groups in the community including the Punta Gorda Isles Cruising Club.
Ralph was predeceased by his father, Clarence Fischer, mother, Rose Fischer, and son Robert Fischer. Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years Janis, daughters Betsy (Jeff), and Peggy (Dan), daughter-in-law Randi Marks, and grandsons Ben, Gus, Cal, Josh, and Anthony.
Family and friends attended mass at Sacred Heart Church with a celebration of life at the Punta Gorda Civic Association, a building Ralph helped with serving as a construction consultant.
