John Henry Hunt

He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on May 8, 1942. He graduated from West High in 1960. He worked as a Machinist for Mac-Spec Bando for 30 years until they closed.He was a member of the International Association of Machinist and was their shop steward for the union.

He moved to Port Charlotte, Florida with his wife in 1993 where he resided until his death. He worked at Nielsen Media Reserch in Venice, Florida until he retired.

He loved playing cards, TV and his puzzles on his computer and fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife Helen Sue Hunt. He has three children John Hunt of North Port ,Florida, and Barbara Medeiros of West Warwick, Rhode Island and Brenda Homiszczak of North Port ,Florida. He has two Grandchldren John Matthew Hunt of Plainsville, Mass. and Jennifer King of Florida Daughter-in law Diane and Son-in law Michael and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John Joseph Hunt and mother Irene Belanger and sister Joanie Hunt.

A funeral mass will be held at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33980 on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11:00.
