

Janice Anne Lehman, 91, passed away on Thursday, March 31st, 2022. She was born December 14th, 1930 in Defiance, OH to Bernard and Marcella (Durnwald) Shondell. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Fremont, OH, and was the co-editor of the school newspaper, The Voice. In 1955 she married Leo Lehman and had 4 children.
After moving to Bronson, MI, she worked in Data Processing for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s of Assumption Church, and enjoyed playing bingo and volunteering at the church festivals. After retirement, she worked at local Red Cross blood drives, and did volunteer work at the Bronson library where she was a member of the Friends of the Library for many years.
In 2015 she moved to Punta Gorda, FL and was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church. She was an Offertory Steward, member of the Women’s Guild, Propagation of the Faith, and Association of the Miraculous Medal.
Her hobbies were reading and jigsaw puzzles. She was noted for assembling one puzzle is excess of 20,000 pieces. Her greatest delight was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, baby son Michael, brother Gerard, sister Teresa, and stepdaughter Jacqueline. Survivors include daughters Susan (Glenn) VanVolkom, Carolyn Brown, Lisa (Tim) Ng, stepdaughter Janie Miller, 1 granddaughter, 7 grandsons, 7 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on April 22, with future interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fremont, OH. Remembrances can be made to San Antonio Catholic Church, Port Charlotte, FL 33980 or Friends of the Bronson Library, Bronson, MI 49028
