Doreen Dorothy Russell

Doreen entered the world in Dublin and carried the warmth, wit, and storytelling spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She had a gift for conversation — she loved talking, sharing tales, and connecting with people wherever she went. Her circle of friends stretched across Dublin, the Cleveland, Ohio area, and Punta Gorda, Florida, where she built a large, loving community that cherished her deeply.

She is survived by her children, Kelly (Jonathan Dorey) and Daniel (Carolina Trevino), who brought immense joy and meaning to her life. She is also preceded in death by Harry L. Russell and her partner of decades James Havey.

Doreen is also survived by her beloved siblings: James Carroll (United States), Una Giles Carroll (Ireland), Nancy Tyrell Carroll (Ireland), Patrick Carroll (Australia), Brendon Carroll (United States), Sean Carroll (United States), and Frances Carroll (Australia). She is preceded in death by her cherished siblings Marie Harnett Carroll and Tony Carroll. She is further survived by her cousins Jean Wojciak, Christopher, Joseph, Liam, Brian, and Gerard, all of whom were a big part of her life and family, sharing in the closeness, laughter, and deep bonds that shaped her world.

She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Doreen was preceded in death by four beloved nieces and nephews — William Harnett, Ann Chadowski, Stephen Carroll, and Andrew Carroll — whom she remembered with love throughout her life.

Doreen was known for her boundless spirit and her willingness to show up for anyone, anytime. All she ever needed was an invitation, and she would be there — ready to help, ready to laugh, ready to share a story, ready to make someone feel less alone.

She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched — family, friends, and the many people who were lucky enough to cross her path. Her warmth, her stories, and her generous heart will be carried forward in every memory shared and every life she brightened.
