

Deborah was born on August 1, 1949 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Paul and JoAnn Nelson. Her mother married Lyle F Parks one year later. Debbie, as she liked to be called, married Stanley Brotherton on February 13, 1993 in Taylorville, Il.. Debbie retired from Exelon’s Byron Station Nuclear Power Station in 2004 where
among many other responsibilities, she was asked over and over to operate the puller crane to remove the reactor head for refueling. This was a position of great trust! Precise movements saved
both workers and equipment from harm!
Debbie is survived by her Children: Son, Robert Nelch and Grandson Colton Nelch of North Port, Florida, daughter Lisa Brotherton with significant other Tannor Baker and grandson Theodore Baker,
granddaughter Alisea Hibbs and significant other Kerry Nutts of Springfield, Il., granddaughter Destiny Brotherton and significant other Tyler Jacobs and great grandchildren Luna and Hudson
Jacobs of Pawnee, Il., son Joe Brotherton and significant other Brandy Taylor of Springfield, Il., granddaughter Krystin Strmiska with significant other James Melvin and great grandson Julien Melvin of Springfield, Il., grandson Blake Strmiska of Springfield, Il., granddaughter Syrena Strmiska of Springfield, Il., Debbie also leaves behind two brothers and a sister.A brother, Lyle F Parks II(Connie) of Taylorville, Il., niece Lindsey Pedraza and great-nephew Parker Pedraza of Punta Gorda, nephew Lyle F Parks III of St. Louis Il. A brother, Lyndell Parks and significant other Sylvia Wilson of Port Charlotte, Fl. and two nieces, Lauren (Ryan) Gleason of Springfield, Il. and Caitlin Parks of Taylorville, IL.,
Debbie also leaves behind a sister, Lori (Mario) Bernardo of Port Charlotte, Fl. In addition she leaves behind a former sister-in-law, Debbie (Dow) Grider of Springfield, Il.
Arrangements are being made by the National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
A future celebration of life will be held later.
