Carl Joseph Costa passed away Thursday, 10/8/2020 at the age of 79 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was formerly from Somerset, Massachusetts. He and his wife Vivian retired to North Port, Florida in 2006. Carl was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Physics from Providence College. He was a Principle Engineer for Raytheon in Portsmouth, R.I. for 44 years. Carl was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. In his earlier days he built his own race car and raced with the Sports Car Club of America throughout New England. Carl also enjoyed playing golf.
Carl leaves his wife Vivian of 54 years, his brother in law Aldam (Pete) Tessier, several cherished nieces, nephews and their respective spouses. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Tessier and his nephew Kevin.
Due to Covid 19, a mass will be held at a later date at San Pedro Church in North Port.
Donations in his memory may be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs or Tidewell Hospice.
