Age 75, of Chandler, Arizona went to be with his Lord & Savior in Chandler, Arizona on Wednesday, December 28,
2022 surrounded by his family. Willie was born on December 26,1947 in Chicago, IL to James Rhodes and Lilly Mae
Williams.
He was a veteran, an ordained minister and a General Motors retiree. Willie served in both the Marines
and in the Army National Guard. He spent most of his adult life in Lansing, MI and relocated to the Arizona sunshine
in 2008 with his family. Willie loved God and his family and was the person you couldn’t help but like when you met
him. He had a smile and a hug for everyone and made new friends every time he left the house. Willie was preceded
in death by 3 of his siblings, 1 of his children and 1 of his great-grandchildren, but is survived by Beverly,his wife of 44
years, 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and many family and friends.
A memorial service is being held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 17th at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 1330 S
Crismon Rd., Mesa, AZ 85209.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Willie’s name to St.
Jude’s, which was one of Willie’s favorite charities.
