Steven Alan Nelson

Born on July 14, 1951, Steven was a graduate of Moon Valley High School and was interested in architecture, however he dedicated his career to serving the community as a member of the Phoenix Fire Department. His commitment to public service left a lasting impact on those he worked with and served.

Steven had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He found joy in hunting, fishing, cooking, riding his motorcycle, attending concerts, country dancing, traveling especially to Rocky Point. Music was a constant companion in his life, and he cherished time spent with friends and family. Known for his humor and sociable nature, Steven brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Cam; son-in-law Lance; grandsons Connor, Logan, and Gavin; sisters Cathy, Tracy, Karen, and Sue; brother Kevin; stepmother Cilla; his favorite dog Cooper, many nieces and nephews and a lot of friends that were family. He was preceded in death by his father Del, mother Mardel, son Corey, sister Nancy, and brothers-in-law Bob and Chuck.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ's Church of the Valley, in Building 4000, located at 7007 W Happy Valley Rd., Peoria, Arizona 85383.

In honor of Steven’s memory and his enduring spirit, donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
