Bob was born on October 23, 1948, to Harry and Alice Woodward and grew up in Cottage Grove, MN, where he graduated from Park High School. Bob went on to an over forty-year career at Interstate Power Systems, beginning as a Warranty Clerk and culminating as the company’s Executive Vice President. He was proud of his role in exponentially growing the business, as well as managing and leading the employees and the organization, always personifying the company’s motto, “Pride in Service.” Even after retiring, Bob could not give up being a leader and served as President of his HOA for several years.
Bob enjoyed pheasant hunting and walleye fishing, living by and boating on the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers, watching sports (especially baseball), vacationing in Scottsdale to escape the Minnesota winters before eventually retiring there, and spending time with his family (and spoiling his grandchildren in his retirement). He also frequently recalled fond memories of spending time on his grandparents’ farm. But, without question, what brought Bob the most enjoyment was bringing people together for entertainment and social gatherings. He had a natural way of making everyone feel welcome and a sparkle in his eye when he saw people laughing and having a good time.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Vicki (née) Atchison, and his sisters, Patricia (Ron) Johnson and Janet (Terry) Lorenz. He is also survived by his son Aaron (Laurie) Woodward, daughter Angie (Jeff “Len”) Stoskopf, and grandchildren Logan, Gretchen, Caleb, and Alicia. He is remembered by his family as an amazing husband, brother, father, and grandfather. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, AZ.
Private interment at a later date.
