Obituary of Houston Miles Brown
It is with profound sadness that we announce that our dear Houston has passed away at the Valleywise Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Houston was born in Calgary Alberta on January 25, 1984. His middle name was given to him by his parents in recognition of the thousands of miles Houston travelled with his parents in the family motor home - both before and after he was born. They travelled all across Canada and throughout the USA. The family later settled in Scottsdale where Houston started school. Houston loved hockey and soccer as a child and was the Phoenix Coyotes biggest fan, attending as many games as he could. He loved animals, playing with his older brother Hugh Jr. in the back yard pool, and being with his many cousins. When Houston was a teen-ager, he suffered the sudden and tragic loss of his mother, sweet Georgia Brown. This event changed him forever. He never failed to remember her birthday each year in May, and throughout his life, his mom was always in his heart. Houston and Georgia both lived to 39 years, and now Houston is back in his mother’s arms. Houston worked hard in the restaurant trade and was an excellent bar tender and manager. He was charming, energetic, fun loving, and curious about the world around him. He shared a love of vehicles with his dad, and Houston was a true blessing and comfort to Hugh over the years. Houston also had a special relationship with Ford and Wendy McDonald and cousins Melissa and Emily. Houston was predeceased by his grandparents, George and Phyllis Fabian, and Norman and Sally Brown, and by his mother Georgia Brown. Houston leaves behind his father, Hugh Brown, his siblings Holly (Michael), Hillary (Trevor), Haley, and Hugh Jr. and also his son Braxton. Houston had many aunts, uncles and cousins and many good friends who loved him dearly. His family so appreciates the love and support Houston received from his dear friend Tina Larabell in recent years. Hugh and Georgia’s good friend, Bonnie Mill, and Tina, were both there during Houston’s final days for which our family will be forever grateful. Sisters Hillary and Holly were also there when their brother passed. Rest in Peace Houston, we will miss you, and we will remember you. A celebration of Houston’s life will be held in Arizona in the near future, (further details will be posted here in the coming weeks.) In lieu of flowers the family would be most appreciative of donations to Diabetes Canada or to The American Diabetes Association. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nationalcremation.com/location/phoenix for the Brown family.
