Born on December 28, 1943, in Seattle, WA, she was a daughter of the late George and Jenny Gaidos. She graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1962 and attended a technical school to learn keypunch operation in Seattle, graduating in 1968.
She married the late Ronald Eugene Parkhill on December 19, 1970, and they lived in Seattle, WA; Farmington, NM; Roosevelt, UT; Rangely, CO, 1971 – 1975. Her husband's work also took them to Tawau, Sabah, East Malaysia; and then to Teheran, Iran, in 1975 – 1976. They also lived in Carnation, WA and Weatherford, TX in 1977; in Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1980 to 1981; and in 1981 they returned to Weatherford, TX. In 1996 they moved to Phoenix, AZ; and then, in 1999, to Apache Junction, AZ where they finally retired and then snowbirded part time in Soldatna, AK. Georgene is survived by her sister, Elaine Hurlbut of Duvall, WA; and two children, Yvonne Parkhill and Robert Parkhill both of Mesa, AZ; and her beloved little pet dog Mia. She was predeceased by her loving husband on December 3, 2016.
Georgene was mechanically inclined and always said, "you can do anything you set your mind to." She could do electrical work, plumbing, flooring, tiling, rebuild walls, and roofing. She was an excellent homemaker and kept an immaculate home, grew a fabulous garden in Texas, cooked the best meals incorporating foods that she learned how to cook from all over the world. Her Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and birthday feasts will be remembered with great fondness. She made the best pecan pies and was a grill master. Georgene gutted and rebuilt an Airstream travel trailer, rebuilt the engine of her 1984-1/2 Corvette, and built an immaculate pool table wherein the pockets were slightly narrower and required precise shots. She was an excellent pool player, and bowler. She sewed her own clothes when she was younger, and hand crafted many beautiful items including a cherished afghan blanket that many of her beloved pets curled up upon over the years. She crafted many heirloom/museum quality embroidered wall hangings. Georgene doted upon her children and her many fur/feathered children alike. There is a hole in her children's hearts that only she could fill, and she is so very missed.
