

David George Powell passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends March 7, 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by Janet, his wife of over 37 years, her two children, Dawn and Michael, and grandchildren, Johnathen and Mikayla, and sister, Judie; nieces and a nephew; and two daughters, Kimberly and Jennifer and their sons.
David was born in 1946 to George and Margaret Jane Powell in Euclid (Cleveland), Ohio. He served in the Army as a Supply Sergeant during the Vietnam War era; after that he worked in the irrigation industry in parts sales and design. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1970’s and pursued his passion for water conservation as an irrigation design consultant for over 50 years. He was a founding partner in Spectrum Irrigation Consultants, Inc., he retired from that profession August, 2021.
His hobbies included being a sponsor, coach and pitcher on slow pitch softball teams, throwing horseshoes, camping in the pines, and sipping Gentleman Jack on the patio with family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns, and tried really hard to be a die-hard fan of the Diamondbacks baseball team and the Phoenix Suns basketball team. He will be missed by many.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest brother, Jim and his youngest brother, Al.
