Tommy spent decades working for Mississippi Power & Light before moving to Florida in 1996, where he started his own landscaping business and worked for the City of Altamonte Springs. A true jack of all trades and master of many, Tommy could cook a mean catfish, wrangle a snake out of your house, take you to a Pink Floyd concert, and still surprise you by knowing all the lyrics to a French Cajun song. All animals loved him, and he leaves behind his most loyal companion, Archie, along with the memory of many past animal loves. Tommy’s unique blend of skill, humor, and heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, his stepdaughter, Meredith Salens, his brother, Mike Cummins, and his parents John and Earlene Cummins.
He is survived by his daughter, Liz and her husband, John (Oviedo), and four stepchildren, Russell Thomas (Madison, MS), Allison Weeks (Houston, TX), Nikol Grant (Phoenix, AZ), Gerald Grant (Winter Park, FL).
The family would like to thank John Salens, Jeanine Amason, and Vitas nurse, Robert Pumarada, for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in their honor to American Cancer Society.
