Terrance Joseph Gray

Terrance (Terry) Joseph Gray of Longwood, FL passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born on August 7, 1945 in Fresno, CA where he grew up with his mother, Blanche Ethan and brother Gary Gray.

Terry's journey through music, entrepreneurship, and community service is truly inspiring. From his early days playing guitar in high school to touring the United States with legendary acts, such as, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson and the Coasters. He left an indelible mark on the music scene. His role as the music director at the Inferno nightclub and his performances at Walt Disney World demonstrate his versatility and passion for music.

Transitioning into entrepreneurship, Terry's ventures with TJ’s Pub, M.T. Mugg’s Pub, Highway Inn Pub, and FastSigns showcased his business acumen and willingness to take on new challenges. His later work with the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry as one of their graphic art designers, highlights his dedication to helping others and making a positive impact in the community.

Joining New Vision Community Church in Apopka in 2004 was another significant chapter in Terry's life, where he found not only a spiritual home but also a sense of belonging and camaraderie with the congregation. His involvement in the church band further exemplifies his love for music and his desire to use his talents to uplift others.

Terry's multifaceted life journey is a testament to his resilience, creativity, and commitment to making a difference wherever he went. He leaves behind a legacy of music, entrepreneurship, and service that will continue to inspire others for years to come.

Terry's interests in music, golf, sports, and NASCAR paint a picture of someone who embraced life to the fullest and enjoyed a variety of activities. His love for music was evident throughout his life, from his career as a musician to his continued enjoyment of playing guitar. His passion for golf and his support for his grandchildren's athletic pursuits demonstrate his dedication to both leisure and family.

He was preceded in death by his father Myron Gray, mother Blanche Ethan, brother Gary Gray, and son Christian Shane Gray.

His family was clearly very important to him, and he leaves behind a loving wife of 42 years, Barbara Gray, children, Teri Lynn Collins (Chris), Randy Gray (Michelle), daughter in law, Jill Gray, grandchildren, Christian Peterson (Aleah), Chase Collins (Isabella), Orion Gray, James Gray, great granddaughter, McKinley Gray Peterson, nephew Christopher Gray and great niece Taegan Gray, and extended family who will cherish the memories they shared with him.

He touched many lives and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community. A memorial service will be held in the near future with details to follow. The service will be a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate his life and all the joy he brought to those around him.
