Born February 24, 1943 in Eureka, KS to Opal Maxine Black and Charles Edwin Karraker, Sharon later moved in her youth from Fall River, KS to Sanford, FL with her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. She attended local schools and graduated from Seminole High in 1961 followed by a marriage to Gerald Dennis “Tadpole” Driskell that same year. Sharon chose to work in education as a teacher’s assistant in the Seminole County School System. Her creative side was appreciated in both her job and by her extended family circle with painting, floral designs, crafting, puppeteer, plays and as a clown for Pinecrest Kiddie Korner in Sanford. In her later years she fell in love with chasing her ancestral roots and traveling.
Sharon and Tadpole’s home was open to numerous neighborhood kids as well as friends and family. Her priority always remained love for those in her life, no matter the connection. As a retiree, she and Tadpole lived in their “moving” house which traveled the United States for several years, visiting every state repeatedly while seeking beautiful sites as well as every casino possible.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Charles and brothers, Donald and Robert. She is survived by her spouse of 65 years, Gerald Dennis Driskell, her daughter Pamela (Michael), son Steven (Valerie), bonus son Tim Love (Beth), grandchildren Kerston (Kelly), Samantha, Zack, Kylie, Kasey, the most loved great grandchildren Kaine and Kohen Love, sister Deanna Sue Hamrick, numerous nieces, nephews as well as their spouses and children. Sharon leaves behind a large circle of Kennedy Space Center family and those bonus families collected along her life’s journey.
We will honor Sharon with a graveside service on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 10:00am in Geneva Cemetery on Cemetery Road and First Street, Geneva, FL. All those loved by her are welcome to attend and share their favorite memories.
