Devoted husband of 73 years to his wife Lorraine and loving father of his daughters Musette Young and Celeste Johnson.
He had a passion for flight and space early in life. He became a pilot in his teens and honed his skills in the military and combat. A graduate of the naval academy, an MIT masters and a UCLA doctorate in engineering, he built a strong foundation to practice in flight and space engineering throughout his career. After a long military career, he retired as a full colonel. He started a second and third career with first Grumman and then the University of Florida. He saved satellites, ran ground operations at Kennedy Space Center and established educational programs coupling Kennedy Space Center with the University of Florida.
He will be missed.
A private family service will be held to honor Roger's life. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
