Rita Marie Sellens

Rita Marie Sellens, born October 21, 1944, in Buffalo, New York, passed away March 2,2026 surrounded by the love of her children. A loving and strong mother, grandmother, and friend. Rita will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and the unique and fun personality that touched everyone who knew her.

Rita was the proud mother of three children: “her son, her son”, Herb Telfer, and her daughters, Heather Walters and Audra Asmus. Her greatest joy and achievement in life was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her kids and beloved grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Matthew, Taylor, Addison, and Maya. To them she was “Grammie” and also lovingly known as “Cookie,” both names she adored.

She will also be deeply missed by Frank, Doug, Tori, Brandon, Brooke, her cousins Mike, Bob, Darlene, and Kim, along with extended family members, her Round Table,and friends who loved her dearly.

Rita is now reunited in heaven with her mother, Rita, her brother Jerry, and her Uncle Ronnie.

Her strength, laughter, and love will live on through the family she cherished so deeply. Though she will be greatly missed, the memories she created, the strength she instilled, and the love she gave, will remain in the hearts of those who knew her forever.
