

Raymond Judson Gribbin of Orlando, Florida, passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 74. Raymond was born on November 30, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Francis V. and Marjorie Jane (May) Gribbin.
In 1957, Raymond moved with his family to the Orlando area, his home for the next 60+ years. After training at Ft. Wolters, Texas, Raymond shipped off to Vietnam as a helicopter pilot with the rank of Warrant Officer.
During 1970, flying the LOH (Light Observation Helicopter), Raymond received two Purple Hearts after having been shot down. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his exceptional service.
After returning home, Raymond married Sallie Royce, with whom he welcomed a daughter. In his later years, Ray honored his beloved mother by becoming her caretaker.
Raymond’s interest included surfing, building swimming pools, and music, in particular the Beatles and Rolling Stones. He was always known for his bravery, gentle ways, and quick sense of humor.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Alamanda Gribbin, and his brother, Daniel Gribbin.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the National Cremation Society of Oviedo, located at 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, Florida on Saturday, August 24 at 11:30am. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00am.
