Patricia “Trish” Marie Brett, 80, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on August 5, 2026. Born on June 26, 1946, in Michigan, Patricia lived a full and vibrant life. She moved to Lakeland in 1975 from Missouri and made it her home for the next 51 years, building a life filled with family, hard work, laughter, and many treasured memories.
A dedicated mother and homemaker at heart, Patricia devoted much of her life to caring for her family and household. Alongside managing her home and raising her children, she built a long career in the local community, dedicating 25 years of loyal service to Mosaic in Mulberry, Florida. She was remembered by colleagues and loved ones for her strong work ethic, resilience, and steady warmth.
Those who knew Trish also knew how much she loved to live, laugh, and love. She had a great sense of humor and a personality all her own. She loved wearing hats and had a special fondness for anything featuring Betty Boop. She enjoyed shopping and was a
lifelong cribbage player. These simple pleasures, along with her laughter and love of family, were part of what made Trish so memorable to those who knew and loved her. She also loved Jesus and made sure her family knew that too.
Patricia is survived by her three children, Cheri Million, Susie Schmidt (Tom), and Brett
Harris (Harpa), as well as her extended family, including her grandchildren, Brettany Montague, Meleah Montague, Izzy Harris, and Esja Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Connie James Leroy Brett and Ruby Pauline Brett, and her three sisters,
Glenda, Donna, and Carolyn Kay.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Villages of Bridgewater Clubhouse, located at 2525 Village Lakes Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33805.
In keeping with Trish’s bright personality and the joy she brought to those around her, family and friends are encouraged to wear vibrant, fun colors as they gather to celebrate and remember her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
