

Leo is survived by his wife Violet Alexander of Windermere, FL. He is survived by his children Carlos Christian Lamus (Debra) of Seattle, WA, Joaquin Antonio Leonidas Lamus (Evelyn) of Clewiston, FL, Christopher Sabastian Lamus (Kelly) of Nashville, TN, and Karen Anna Carroll (Gene) of Longwood, FL. He is survived by his grandchildren Elizabeth Kathleen Helena Lamus, Anthony Raymond Lamus, Amanda Elizabeth Lamus, Christopher Sabastian Lamus, II, Cristina Joy Hession, Daniella Monia Hession.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Ramon Lamus Garcia and Maria Teresa Dagnino de Sica. Also, his first wife Maria Cristina (Zinny) Lamus and grandson Jeremiah Lamus, who died in infancy.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 28, 1928. He lived in Italy, Colombia and Buenos Aires, Argentina. There he met Maria Cristina Zinny and were married 3 months later, on September 28, 1957. They were married for almost 43 years before her death. They moved and settled in Michigan where they raised their family.
He started his career in Buenos Aires as an Electrical Supply Clerk before moving to Michigan. There he pursued a career in Construction as a Commercial Layout Engineer and Land Surveyor. During his commercial construction career, he overseen the layout of hospitals (St Joseph Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI., Miami Children Hospital, Miami Beach Hospital), Wastewater Treatment plants, (Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ann Arbor and Flint, MI), and Caterpillar facilities in Indiana and GM factory facilities in Flint, MI. He worked well into his 80’s before retiring and moving to Florida.
He was involved with his grandchildren as they were growing up. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree). He was loved by his family and affectionately known as Papa. He was always kind to everyone, ready to help anyone he could. Papa will be missed by all. Papa was absolutely a wonderful person in every way, one of those so hard to find and so sad to lose.
Family is having a private Celebration of Life in Orlando this June. Funeral Mass is scheduled at St Andrews Catholic Church on October 11, 2021 in Saline, MI before being laid next to our mother at Washtenong Memorial Park.
