It has been said that a man’s legacy is determined by how his story continues in the hearts of those he knew.
John was born on November 20, 1934, to Joseph Bazzetta and Mary (McCusker). His brother Frank was born 5 years later. The family lived in Detroit, where John went to Nativity Catholic School until 1947 when the family moved to Roseville, Michigan. John went to Roseville HS, where he lettered in baseball and basketball. After graduating in 1952 he married Joann (Burke) in 1954 and began an apprenticeship at Chrysler Corporation at the Dodge Main plant.
John and Joann had four children (David, Rick, Lorie, and Joseph) they lived in Warren, Michigan for nearly 20 years before Joann died of cancer in 1980.
John and Nancy (Merritt) were married for 36 years. John made the decision to retire from Chrysler after 38 years, so that he and Nancy could spend their time together in Lakeland, Florida.
John Bazzetta’s legacy lives on with all those who knew him and loved him.
He will be missed, but never forgotten.
The family is suggesting that in lieu of flowers any memorials be sent in memory of John Bazzetta to Good Shepard Hospice, 3450 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland FL. 33805.
