

James Ray Parkhurst, 54, born September 3, 1970, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. James was a man whose life was defined by his deep passion for music. He had an extremely profound connection with God, and an unshakable faith in Jesus as his Savior. Born with a natural talent for playing and singing, music was at the core of his being, and he shared his gift generously with all who knew him.
A free spirit who marched to the beat of his own drum, James lived life to the fullest. Whether riding motorcycles, soaking in the beauty of the ocean, or simply enjoying the wonders of nature and animals, he embraced every moment with a sense of joy and adventure. He was known for being the life of the party—loving, kind, and always able to make others feel welcome. James never knew a stranger, and his compassionate, beautiful heart made everyone around him feel special. James’ creativity, warmth, and his heart of gold left an indelible mark on everyone he met. To know him was to love him, and his presence was a light in the lives of countless friends and family who adored him like their own.
He is survived by his four children: Stephanie Rene Goddard, Jessica Lynn Lewis-Cavallaro, James Ray Parkhurst II, and Tristen Rayne Rolon. The mothers of these children are all deeply affected by this tragic loss as well. He was a proud Pappaw to 5 grandchildren Madalynn Simpson, Jameson Barnes, Madison Barnes, Aurora Evelyn Moonbeam Lewis, and Maliha Divine Parkhurst. They will carry his memory in their hearts. He is also survived by several siblings including Adrian Lambert, Shawn Wiles-Yost, David Parkhurst, Alisa Wheeler, Tommy Parkhurst, Dawn Johnson, Traci Hardesty, Liane Capshaw, Lisa Tomlinson, Alan Parkhurst, and Devon. Hearts are also heavy for countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and hundreds of friends who considered him family.
James was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Vicki Lynn Lambert, and his father, Henry Parkhurst and his baby brother Jay Parkhurst.
His passing leaves an unimaginable void, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. James’ infectious energy, generous soul, and boundless love will never be forgotten.
James, you will be dearly missed, but your memory and legacy will shine on, guiding us through life with the love, laughter, and faith you shared with us all.
Rest in peace, James Ray Parkhurst. You will forever be loved and missed.
