Born October 7, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, the loving and supportive father of four and grandfather of three, spent most of his life in the Detroit area, except for a short time living in California where he met his love, Nancy Wolfe. In 1966, the two married and were together for the remaining 56 years of his life.
After high school, he attended the University of Detroit where he earned a degree in Accountancy. For most of his professional life he was the CEO of Sterling-Van Dyke Credit Union (now The Local Credit Union), an endeavor that helped thousands of people borrow and save money to support their families. He was a long-time, proud member of Warren Kiwanis Club.
Frank was a spiritual man who sought peace and grace during his lifetime. We believe he has found it. We look for his energy to sustain our aching hearts as we grieve now that his physical presence is gone.
Frank was preceded in death by his father Frank Voelker, his mother Iva Willman, granddaughter Isabel Schoenberger, and son-in-law Thomas Slack. He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Lois Slack, Eva Voelker, Katherine Schoenberger, and H Frank Voelker II; grandchildren Martin Voelker and Sarah Schoenberger; and son-in-law Robert Schoenberger.
