Gisele Marie Cayo

Gisele, a lovely glass of wine overflowing, love, adventure, family, friendship, and a lot of fun.

Gisele Marie Cayo passed at the age of ninety-five at her home in Winter Haven, Florida, on July 15th, 2026. Gisele was born in France in 1931. As a child, she survived the Nazi occupation and assisted her family’s activities in the French Resistance. Gisele moved to the United States in 1963 and became a U.S. citizen in 1993.

Gisele was a loving wife and mother. She and Alan were married for sixty years. She often said that “I had a wonderful life because of my husband.” Gisele was proud of her daughter, Tisha; she loved to boast of her beauty and accomplishments.

As a military wife, most of her adventures involved traveling. She loved to tell stories of meeting Kings, Princesses, and even a Contessa. She spoke of her days in Synanon. Sitting next to the Guru at dinner and all the famous people she met. She told the most wonderful stories and always had a photo to share.

Her friends and family covered half the globe. Birthdays, holidays, and vacations were just parties waiting to happen. Food, wine, dancing, telling stories and laughing.

Everyone was drawn to her sweet smile, cute wave, and a “yoo-hoo.” Gisele was beautiful inside and out. Even though we will miss her, I believe the gift she left us was having her life overflow into ours.

Gisele was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Blancard Cayo, and daughter, Patricia Jean Janic.

Gisele’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am, October 3rd at 2500 21st Street NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
