Our beloved Mom, Eleanor Catherine McMaster, passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 96.
To say that Mom will be missed does not begin to express the emptiness in our hearts. She was so much more than our mother. She was the heart of our family—the person who loved us unconditionally, cared for us deeply, and was always there with a kind word, a loving smile, or a helping hand.
Mom did not simply retire and move from Winter Park to Lake Mary, Florida, with her beloved husband, Charles. Together, they built a beautiful life in the Forest, where they lived for more than 20 years. It became a special place filled with friendship, laughter, dancing, cards, Bingo, and countless memories.
Before her illness, Mom was always on the go. You could find her at the clubhouse playing cards or calling Bingo, dancing it up with Charles, or traveling to the mountains with her family. She knew how to enjoy life, and she made sure those around her enjoyed it too. She loved people, she loved her family, and she never took a moment together for granted.
There truly was no greater life lived, and no more caring or loving person has ever been known. Mom gave so much of herself to everyone she loved. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her love was the foundation of our family, and her presence made every gathering, every holiday, and every ordinary day feel a little more special.
She taught us what it means to love deeply, to care for others, to laugh often, and to cherish the people who matter most. The memories she gave us are treasures we will carry for the rest of our lives.
