

Donald “Don” Floyd McCulley of Winter Springs, Florida passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026 at the age of 89. He was born on October 22. 1936 in Perham, Minnesota. He grew up with his seven (7) brothers and (4) sisters.
He dropped out of high school to join the U.S. Navy where he earned his G.E.D. while serving our country.
He was a “jack of all trades” working at several different jobs after serving with the U.S. Navy. His greatest passions were when he worked with the space industry as a Missile Mechanic with Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin working on Saturn 5 rockets, the External Tank, and the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) for the Space Shuttle program. He also worked at Kubat Equipment servicing gasoline station equipment and repairs. Upon retiring from Lockheed Martin, Don started his own handyman business focusing on flipping houses and whole home repairs.
His hobbies included dancing with his beautiful wife Jan, spending time with family, hunting deer, playing golf, regularly playing cards, cribbage, and board games. He loved watching Western Movies and listening to Polka music.
He was preceded in death by his father Floyd McCulley, his mother Myrtle McCulley, his three (3) brothers Melvin McCulley, Harold McCulley, and Eldon McCulley, along with his four (4) sisters: Lila Kimmes, Vera Fillinger, Betty Schwab, and Lois Dreitz, and his son Timothy McCulley.
He is survived by his wife Jan McCulley, daughter Denise Herwick, granddaughters Leah Combs (Richard) and Kristin Herwick (Danielle), grandsons Michael McCulley (Janie) and David McCulley (Sydney); and great-grandchildren Aubree, Karcen, Brayden, Emmitt, Linley, Abbigail, and AnnaBeth.
Don was full of life, fun, and a friend to everyone, never meeting a stranger.
The family would like to thank his OrlandoHealth doctors and the AdventHealth Hospice Center for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at National Cremation and Burial Society in Oviedo on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 3 pm and Visitation with the family will begin at 1 pm.
The Interment with Military Honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11:30 am.
