Dr. Biff Kramer

Dr. Biff Kramer, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at age 84, surrounded by family and his beloved dog Maggie Mae. He entered into the light after a life marked by LOVE, faith, acceptance, generosity, and gratitude.

Born in New York, NY, Biff was a bright, adoring child—reciting full phone messages from memory by age three. He grew up riding horses and teaching at the family's summer camp, Silver Birch Ranch, and graduated from Palm Beach High School before earning his BS at the University of Florida, where his love of the Gators took root. He went on to the M.J. Lewi College of Podiatry, serving as senior class president and forming lifelong friendships. During this time, he married Roberta Brill; they later divorced but shared a daughter, Dr. Danielle Phelan.

Biff lived a spiritually open and accepting life. He embraced the beliefs of others with a genuinely open heart. He explored and developed his own personal relationship with God through his beloved study of Universal Qabalah. Biff applied what he learned in his devotion to understanding the God essence within himself, through his friendships and with everyone he met.

Biff devoted decades to the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), serving in the House of Delegates, chairing the Resolutions Committee, and earning a reputation as the association's trusted political whip—known as much for his mentorship as his mastery of parliamentary procedure. He spent countless hours standing in the back of the House talking about APMA politics, counting votes, and figuring out how to get things done. His colleagues learned from him, but more importantly, they knew they could count on him for his honesty, his advice, and his friendship. Many of the skills he had learned in Narcotics Anonymous service: listening, compromise, and putting principles before personalities. He also served as an AAAS Congressional Fellow (1995–96) in the office of Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. Biff was a true leader, and the profession is better because he gave so much of himself to it.

At 38, after losing his marriage, business, and home to addiction, Biff surrendered to Narcotics Anonymous and became one of its three founding members in Orlando. He took the program seriously and learned a new way of life. It was not easy: his trials and tribulations were still many, and at times his clean life continued to unravel, but Biff held onto the fact that others could benefit from his experience staying clean, and he persevered. Biff had a big heart and loved people back to life. He had loads of fun in the process. He never missed a dance or a concert he could get to and never said no to serving others, whether on a service body, in a group, or one-on-one with a friend or sponsee. He helped others constantly - He never stopped giving back through service; speaking at conventions and workshops across roughly 41 states, Canada, and Australia, sponsoring countless others, and serving at the world level more than once. Biff watched 18,000 recovering addicts gather in Orlando in 2018, one of his proudest memories. He died with 45 years clean.

Biff filled his life to overflowing so he'd always have plenty to give to others. He nursed struggling houseplants back to health in his home office and adored his animals, including Kuma and Spirit, who sadly predeceased him. He loved to travel, especially with his wife Heather, whom he met in Canada and married at 71—finally becoming the most wonderful, happy husband. Sundays and any other day found him on the golf course with friends he loved dearly.

Biff practiced at Orlando Foot and Ankle, later Upperline Health, retiring at 83 after a Parkinson's diagnosis in early 2025. Despite four foot surgeries, a broken hip, and three bouts of pneumonia in his final year, he faced it all with grace and humor, never complaining.

He was predeceased by his parents, Adele and Henry, and his brother Glen Ethan “Gig". He is survived by his wife, Heather; her children Erica and Keegan; and grandchildren Ephrim and Memphis; daughter Danielle; brothers Andrew (Patricia) and Jim "Jimbo" (Judy); nephew Henry Kramer; niece Jessica Auchter (Tom); and great-nephews Theodore and Sebastian.

Biff Kramer was pure love. He died peacefully at 10 a.m. on July 25, 2026, in Heather's arms, with Maggie Mae and family by his side.

Biff's Memorial Celebration Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 4 PM.
