

Peter John Weggeman 82, of Naples Florida passed away on May 8, 2017, with his family surrounding him. He was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela to the late Albert A. Weggeman and Maria C. (nee Van De Voorde). Peter led an interesting life from his early beginnings, raised in a home speaking three languages, Dutch, Spanish and English. This helped in his education, throughout the world, learning in Curacao, Venezuela, Australia, and then attending boarding school and college in Canada. Peter was a member of the University of Western Ontario Championship swim team. While attending college he met the love of his life, Judith Claire Pink, through her brother who was, at the time, captain of the swim team. After graduating from college, he worked in the chemicals/packaging industry. He spent most of his career at Continental Can Corporation, and then began his own beverage packaging company, where he was owner and president until his retirement. Peter enjoyed reading, traveling, sailing, and the Opera. His family will always remember his love of knowledge, especially his worldly and energetic intellect. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judith Claire (nee pink) Weggeman, his devoted children Peter A. Weggeman and his wife Atchara Khantakharn, Jill C. Jennings, Jeffrey H. Weggeman and his wife Sandra M. and Christopher P. Weggeman and his wife Ann C.; his devoted grandchildren Malaiya, Tyler, Jessica, Carter (and their father Kevin Jennings), Claire, Jade, Jack, Samuel, Olivia. His dear brothers, Albert and John Weggeman. Family will honor Peter’s life privately.
