Marilyn was a strong woman. She had the strength to get out of a struggling marriage and then with her two young sons, strike out on her own. Raising Todd and Tim successfully for five years on her own led to her making the decision to marry an excellent man, Leo Sugar. Their union lasted a lifetime. Leo brought three children into the family: Steven, John and Alison.
Marilyn was a compassionate woman. Of all the careers open to her, she chose to work for The March of Dimes. Her organizational skills created fund-raising events helping many children. Leo worked beside her at these events as a volunteer.
Marilyn was a creative woman. She started her own floral design business. After retiring, she worked at a county recreation center teaching adult ceramics. She employed her creative passion and organizational skills working with pre-kindergarten children in the Young Picasso art program with her sister, Bonnie.
Marilyn is survived by sisters: Janet and Bonnie, her two sons: Todd and Tim, and her step-son John. She has grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Todd is married to Kim with three children: Wayne, Micah and Hannah. Wayne and Lindsey have two children: Jack and Katelyn. Micah and Lauren have five children: Elinoah, Jeremiah, Joseph, Benedict and Julia. Tim has two step-children: Jackie and Joseph. Alison has a son: Joseph. Leo, Steven, and Alison preceded Marilyn's passing.
Marilyn was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She would do whatever she could to help family and friends. Her smile was infectious. Her humor made you happy. Her love was boundless. She will be missed, greatly.
