Born on August 25, 1943, Linda lived a life marked by deep faith, humility, and service to others. Nursing was not simply her profession—it was her calling. For more than 40 years, she served as a nurse in hospitals, as an educator teaching future nurses, and as a missionary, helping establish rural medical clinics in Africa and South America. Wherever there was need, Linda answered with skill, grace, and Christ-like love.
In the final years of her nursing career, Linda served at Hope Hospice, where she cared tenderly for the terminally ill, offering comfort, dignity, and peace during life’s most sacred moments. Her presence brought reassurance not only to patients, but also to their families, as she ministered with both professional excellence and a servant’s heart.
Linda believed deeply in the promise of abundant life through Christ, living out the words of Scripture:
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” — John 10:10b (KJV)
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard C. Nelson, and her children, Bethany and Troy, who were the great joy of her life. Linda’s legacy of faith, compassion, and obedience to God’s call will continue through the many lives she touched around the world.
Though she is deeply missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she now rests in eternal peace, fully alive in the presence of her Savior.
