Kevin Jude McCabe

April 27, 1947 – June 26, 2024

Kevin J McCabe, 77, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away June 26, 2024, following an extended stay in the hospital after a car accident on March 7, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Maryellen E McCabe who predeceased him. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Ruth & Bernard McCabe. Kevin grew up in Squantum MA and later in Pembroke MA. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Providence College.

He enjoyed a successful career at the Federal Reserve Banks of Boston and Philadelphia. He lived with his wife in Easton and Franklin MA for many years, and in 2005 they purchased a winter home in North Ft Myers. In 2015, Kevin and Maryellen retired to Lake Fairways in North FT Myers, FL. Kevin and Maryellen both enjoyed playing golf. They also enjoyed traveling and visited many locations together. In recent years, Kevin could usually be found on his iPad using several mind challenging games.

Kevin is survived by his siblings, Kerry McCabe (NH), Barry (Denise) McCabe (VT), Lennie McCabe (MA) and is preceded in death by Stephen (Beth) McCabe (VT). His in-laws include Earl Barrett (MA), Michael (Cheree) Barrett (MD), Annie (Dan) Dolan (PA), and Tricia (Greg) Gonthier (MA).

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. Kevin liked to attend their various events and he was always excited and happy when he received photos of them.

Kevin also had many close friends in both Florida and New England with whom he enjoyed socializing. Kevin’s family appreciates the support of his closest friends during this challenging time.

A celebration of life will be held on a date tbd in the future.
