

Kenneth Martin Jacobus Jr. passed peacefully from this world to the next on 5/30/2023 at 88 years of age, after a brief battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ken was born in Summit, New Jersey lived in several places in N.J and spent his summers in Shore Acres, After serving time in The US Navy. It was at Shore Acres at the age of 20 that he met the love of his life, Nancy Jacobus. Their summer romance turned into 46 years of marriage before Nancy passed away in 2006.
Ken worked as a butcher for 50 years, starting at the A&P. He and Nancy spent 21 years living in Piscataway, NJ with their children, Ken Jacobus (Anita), Toms River, NJ, Jeff Jacobus (Lorine), Middlesex, NJ, and Pam LaForce (Bobby), Ft. Myers Beach, FL. He was a giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed and faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. His motto was always Family First, and a Never Quit! While raising their children, Ken was on the recreation board in Piscataway coaching little league and mentoring youth for 20 years. He’s played softball and went to many sports games with his children. He loved to take his family on many tent camping trips around the country each summer spending time enjoying nature and visiting historical sites.
Ken spent his later years in Cape Coral, FL. Staying fit by working out daily in the gym. He was always up for an adventure and went on many cruises and traveled around the world, many times with The Gulfshore Singles Club. He certainly loved to Live Life to the fullest by encouraging others, having a positive attitude, spreading Words of wisdom and Joy every morning on Facebook. And many times he dancing the night away right up to the end! Papa Ken was a family man, that took a Ken interest in his grandchildren; Kenny, and Francesca Jacobus; Dana and Jeffrey Jacobus, Dylan and Dawson LaForce, and most recently a welcomed new addition, his great-grandson Dylan LaForce Jr. He is survived by his sisters Carol Meincke of Cape Coral and Lynn Jacobus Lombard (Ray) of Lake Lure North Carolina, his brother Wayne Jacobus (Betty Lou) of Sherrills Ford North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, if one would like, the family prefers donations be made to Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral 923 SE 47th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33904,( where he could be found worshiping every Sunday) or to Vitas Hospice, ( which was a great organization that helped at the end of his life) 4980 Tamiami Trail, N suite 102, Naples, FL 34103.
