USMC Reserves. He enlisted in June 1956; was discharged in 1960; enlisted in USMC Reserves in Lynn, MA and opted out in 1962 when he found out that
he couldn't be come active because of a hearing problem.
Jack went to work for GTE Sylvania, Inc., in Towanda, PA. With their educational program and the GI bill, Jack graduated from Keystone Jr. College and Wilkes
College, both in PA. He retired as Purchasing Manager for a GTE plant in Peabody, MA. Upon retiring in 1990, and being empty-nesters, Jack and Marge moved
to Cape Coral, FL, where he became active with the Marine Corps League, the VFW, and the American Legion. Jack was the Honor Guard Captain for the VFW
where he was to serve with a group of veterans like himself. He enjoyed reading, using the Gym and travelling when possible.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Marge and their children; Jeffrey(deceased), Gregory(Julie), Gary, Chris and Alison (Bob) Horne.
