Jeannette Rose Giroux

Jeannette Rose Giroux, age 91, formerly from Augusta, Maine, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, in her apartment at Springwood Court Assisted Living Facility in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born on December 26, 1933, daughter of the late Ovide and Florence Drouin.

Jeannette had worked at various locations in Augusta, Maine, including the old A&P Grocery store. She also worked at Sears in the catalog department for several years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing and raising her four children. She took pride in keeping a very neat and clean home. After the passing of her husband in 2010, she moved to the Chateau Cushnoc in Augusta, Maine, where she lived for several years before moving to Cape Coral, Florida, in 2017 with her daughter, Elaine, and then moved to the assisted living facility for the last few years of her life.

Jeannette was pre-deceased by her husband, Lawrence Giroux; her parents, Ovide and Florence Drouin; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Greta Drouin; her son-in-law, Harold Tibbetts; her oldest grandson, Mark Tibbetts; and her great-granddaughter, Almeda Giroux, who recently passed.

Jeannette is survived by her children, Linda Tibbetts of Van Buren, Arkansas; Susan and Daniel Michaud of Wasilla, Alaska; Richard and Pamela Giroux of Ramona, Kansas; and Elaine and James Fellows of Cape Coral, Florida. She also leaves behind 10 Grandchildren, 29 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside memorial and burial will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta, Maine, on June 23rd, 2025, at 10am, in Section H, Row 41, Site 24, located at 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, ME 04330.

Celebration of Life to follow at Le Club Calumet, 334 W River Rd., Augusta, ME 04330, beginning at 11am. A light lunch will be provided.
