Jeanette O'Brien

Jeanette F. O’Brien, 97, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, formerly of Farmington, Connecticut, passed away on Oct 3, 2019. “Jean” was born in Hartford, a daughter of Nettie Belle (Rossing) O’Brien and William O’Brien.

A dedicated family person, Jean was involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews, and the next generation of family - her grandnieces and grandnephews. She is lovingly remembered by all. After many years of service at Heublein, Jean retired and became a resident of Florida. A dedicated watercolor artist, she encouraged many others to paint and was active in the Fort Myers Art League. One of the joys of her life was mentoring children at the De Lasalle Academy, where she was affectionately known as “Grandma” Jean by the children.

Jean was predeceased by her sisters, Irene O’Brien Cahill Hallowell, Madeline O’Brien, and brother, William O’Brien and his wife, Janet. She leaves her nieces and nephews, John and Denise Cahill; William and Kathleen Cahill; Joseph and Patricia Cahill Patriss; William O’Brien, Kathleen O’Brien Tracy, Thomas O’Brien, Mary O’Brien and Nancy O’Brien. Jean also leaves countless friends and loved ones who she inspired throughout her life.

Family and friends will honor Jean's life on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at Pope John XXIII, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912 with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM, her cremated remains will be laid to rest in the Church's Memorial Garden.
