

James David Thomas, 83, died December 14, 2016 at Cape Coral Hospital. Born in Noblesville, IN, Nov. 06, 1933 to Lawrence and Elizabeth Ferguson Thomas. Jim graduated from Walnut Grove High School with honors. He is survived by his beloved wife Dee (nee McIntyre) Thomas whom he married in 1954. His son Jeffrey David Thomas and wife Tami Sallee of Lawrenceburg, IN; three granddaughters, Jessica Rae, Maria Rachel, and Brianna Dee. Jim is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Kathleen (nee Orbaugh) and husband Ed Snauwaert, Lou Ann Conner, Bill Thomas, and Tom Orbaugh. He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Ann Thomas, sister Betty (nee Thomas) Orbaugh, brothers, Mark and Jack Thomas, and nephew Tim Thomas. He lived and worked in Los Angeles, California as Assistant Vice President of Large Drug Store Chain for 25 years. He also lived in Bullhead City AL for 12 years, where he tried to start businesses, moving to Rising Sun, IN where he worked for his son in the appraisal business before moving to North Fort Myers, FL. Jim enjoyed hunting in his early years and was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs. Family and friends will honor Jim’s life at National Cremation and Burial Society, 3453 Hancock Bridge Parkway, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903, on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 3PM with visitation the hour prior.
