

Harold “Hal” D. Larson (age 86) passed away on December 6, 2022, in Cape Coral, FL. The Rockford, IL, native was the son of David and Myrtle Larson. Hal graduated from East High School in Rockford, IL, where he played 4 years on the golf team and played the saxophone in the high school band. After high school he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Andersen AFB in Yigo, Guam. As a member of the Air Force golf team, he was able to fulfill a dream by getting to play a round of golf at The Old Course at St Andrews.
He married Georgine Daisy of Zion, IL, and worked as a salesman. He was an avid bowler and golfer and played in many golf tournaments in Rockford. He also took the time to coach his daughter’s softball and basketball teams. He would give golf tips to anyone who asked his advise. He loved boating and fishing and the family would spend their summer vacations at the family cabin on Lake Chetac in Wisconsin.
After retiring in 1994, he and Georgine moved to Fairfield Glade, TN, where he enjoyed playing plenty of golf. Highlights of his golfing career includes winning the Fairfield Glade Club Championship in 1997, several golf tournaments in Rockford, as well as, three holes in one.
For many years he accompanied Georgine to meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The last five years of his life he was being cared for by his children in Cape Coral, FL, and Bowling Green, KY. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, daughter Cindy (Carol) Larson (Cape Coral, FL), Don (Tresea) Larson (Roscoe, IL), and Jim (Renee) Larson (Bowling Green, KY). Also survived by a cousin Geraldine Swan (Rockford, IL).
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
