

He was preceded in death by his son Stephane “Steve” Valcourt (Michelle). He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Berangere “Bea” Valcourt, his son Donald (Ellen), and his grandchildren Daniel (Dominika), Dale, Emily. Emma and Jack as well as his great grandchildren.
Emil was born in Notre-Dame-Du Lac in PQ Canada. He was one of nine children of the late Leon and Glorieiuse (Lebel) Valcourt. They were: Eudore (dec) and his wife Bibiane, Camille (dec) and his wife Marie Ange, Collette (dec) and her husband Andre “Pitt” (dec), Marie-Claire and her husband Zoel (dec), Gertrude and her husband Antoine (dec), Francois and his wife Claudette, Leo Valcourt (dec) and his wife Louisette, Rosaire and his wife Pauline.
Emil left Canada at the age of 18 and moved in with his sister Collette and her husband Pitt in search of work in Lowell, Mass to help his mother financially. Emil later transplanted to Connecticut with his wife to raise his family. Emil was a carpenter by trade and started a company with his brother Leo. Emil later relocated to Virginia and was the owner of D&E Builders and the Twisted Tomato. After retiring he moved to Florida where he enjoyed driving his golf cart and helping others.
A celebration of Life will be planned in Virginia.
