

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Levine, 70, of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025. Liz was born on October 14th, 1954, to Carmine and Constance D’Onofrio in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the oldest of three children and spent her entire life with her sister Cindy and brother John. After graduating from Saint Joseph by the Sea High School in 1972, she studied Nursing at Fairleigh Dickerson University and graduated from Wagner College in 1976. Later, she received her M.S. in Nursing and M.S. in Health Care Administration from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Throughout her life, Liz worked a dedicated life in health care. Her roles ranged from being a nurse in an operating room in multiple hospitals, serving as a professor and program chair of multiple medical and nursing programs, and in addition an elementary school nurse. In 1980, Liz met Marty Levine in Manhattan, New York, while both were nurses at Saint Vincent Hospital. They married in 1981 at the United Nations Chapel by both a priest and rabbi. Liz and Marty went on to have three children, Neil, Rachel, and Sarah. Over the past few years, Liz has enjoyed part-time work and retirement. She spent her time shopping on Amazon, playing the New York Times crossword puzzle, watching new TV shows, and, most importantly, spending time with her family. Sarah & Rachel found their “futures” and Liz welcomed two son-in-laws into the family. Sarah married Joshua Ingebretson in 2021, and Rachel married Mike Whidden in 2024. In 2012, Liz embraced Garrett Whidden as a future grandson. In 2024, Liz was also over the moon to become a grandparent to Eliza Rose Levine-Ingebretson.
Services will be held at the National Cremation and Burial Society in North Fort Myers, FL on Thursday, March 6th at 6:00 PM. In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local libraries and/or NPR.
